Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

CQS Solutions Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 for our UK operations.
We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continuously improving carbon management across our operations. This commitment is supported by senior leadership and embedded into our long-term strategy.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions represent the greenhouse gases produced during our first formal reporting period and provide the reference point for future reductions.

Baseline Year: April 2025 – March 2026

Additional Details Relating to Baseline Emissions Calculations

CQS Solutions Ltd operates across serviced office locations and through a mobile workforce. As such:

  • Electricity data is estimated using desk-based benchmarks
  • Business travel emissions are calculated using actual mileage split by fuel type
  • Employee commuting emissions use detailed, employee-specific data
  • A company-owned vehicle has been included under Scope 1 emissions

All calculations align with:

  • GHG Protocol Corporate Standard
  • UK Government GHG conversion factors
  • SME best practice for carbon reporting

Baseline Year Emissions

Scope 1 – (Company vehicle)2.55
Scope 2 – (Electricity)3.47
Scope 3 – Business Travel5.59
Scope 3 – Employee Commuting9.01

Emissions Calculation Methodology

Scope 1 – Direct Emissions

Scope 1 emissions arise from a company-owned diesel vehicle:

  • Mercedes Vito (diesel)
  • Approx. 10,000 miles travelled annually

Emissions have been calculated using UK Government diesel conversion factors.

  • Total: 2.55 tCO₂e

Scope 2 – Electricity

Electricity consumption has been estimated due to the nature of serviced office accommodation:

  • Welshpool: 3 desks
  • Telford: 8 desks
  • Birmingham: 1 desk

Using a benchmark of 1,500 kWh per desk per year:

  • Total: 18,000 kWh
  • Emissions: 3.47 tCO₂e

Scope 3 – Business Travel

Business travel emissions include employee travel only and exclude company vehicle usage.

Mileage has been recorded and split by fuel type:

  • Diesel: 16,609.36 miles
  • Petrol: 3,041.3 miles
  • Electric: 9,456.94 miles

Calculated using UK Government emission factors.

  • Total: 5.59 tCO₂e

Scope 3 – Employee Commuting

Commuting emissions have been calculated using:

  • Individual employee commute distances
  • Weekly attendance patterns
  • Vehicle types (diesel, petrol, EV)
  • 46 working weeks per year
  • Total: 9.01 tCO₂e

Current Emissions Reporting

As this is the first reporting period, the baseline year also serves as the current reporting year.

    • Reduced unnecessary mileage
    • Driver awareness

Medium-Term (by 2030–2035)

  • Transition from diesel to low-emission or hybrid vehicle options where operationally feasible

Long-Term (by 2035–2040)

  • Replace the current diesel vehicle with a fully electric vehicle (EV)
  • Align fleet decisions with UK phase-out timelines for petrol and diesel vehicles

This transition is expected to:
