Leading quantity surveyors CQS Solutions has strengthened its team as it continues to expand its presence across the Midlands and Wales.
The firm – which has bases in Telford, Birmingham and Welshpool – has made a number of key appointments that add decades of high-value experience to its growing team.
Dean Riley, who has managed schemes valued at up to £32 million, joins as a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Dean, who has an MSc in quantity surveying and commercial management (RICS accredited) with distinction, brings extensive experience across residential and mixeduse developments.
His background includes senior roles with the Shingler Group, Equans Regeneration and Lane End Developments, where he led cost planning, procurement, contract negotiation and subcontractor management.
Laura Fairbairn has been appointed Bid and Operations Manager, bringing more than 14 years’ experience in procurement, tendering and supply chain management.
Laura has a proven track record in bid co-ordination, supply chain strategy and data‑driven operational improvement, most recently at Novus Property Solutions, where she played a key role in supplier performance management and tender support.
Alongside these new appointments, the strengthened team is supported by the established expertise of Michael Cardwell, who has joined as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
Michael has more than a decade of hands‑on construction experience – including running his own joinery business specialising in listed buildings and conservation projects – and brings additional practical insight and technical understanding to the team. He is currently progressing through a quantity surveying degree apprenticeship while also serving as an on‑call crew manager with Mid and West Wales Fire & Rescue Service.
